The process of developing a web site is critical to providing the customer with what they need. We utilize the time-tested methods of good engineering, which apply to small scale projects as well as to they do to massive large scale websites for major corporations. This process ensures that we are able to provide you with what you want, making sure that you are in agreement every step of the way. Careful requirements analysis is key to keeping the cost of the website development down - by spending so much time finding out exactly what you want and need, we can quickly provide you with the site you are looking for once we begin to build the site. Our process involves the following steps:

Requirements. Perhaps the most crucial stage of the project. This is where we determine exactly what you want. HTML or Flash? Static or dynamic? Do you need a database? What kind of color schemes do you like? We will show you examples of other sites, and use our experience to nail down exactly what you are looking for. Many developers skim over this part, preferring to jump right into writing code so they can quickly show you something. We spend as much time as possible finding out what you want and need first. Once we have determined that, we will present you with a detailed quote estimating the cost of the project.

Design Check. Once a contract has been signed, we will create a graphical mock-up of the site and ask you to sign off. This will include the basic color scheme and graphics, fonts, etc. This is usually not a working site (especially in the case of dynamic websites). Once you sign off on the look and feel of the website, we move to the next stage.

Final Development. We fill in the rest of the site, including any coding that needs to be completed to make the site functional. At the end of this phase, we will ask you to review and sign off again on the site.

Testing and Deployment. The final phase is to provide testing of the site, usually in a hidden location that is only visible to you and other test subjects. Once we are satisfied that the site looks right and is performing as planned, we go live and deploy the site. We can arrange for hosting of the site for you.

We can also provide maintenance and updates of the site for you. These agreements are usually worked out when the development contract is signed, and re-visited after the site is launched. We have found that by following these basic development steps, we can reduce costly re-designs and re-workings of the project, and ensure your satisfaction with the finished website.
